Congratulations to Sharon Shanahan and Delton Outerbridge, who tied as winners of the annual Ernie Owen Individual Championship. Complete with Christmas Hats and prosecco, a field of 28 players competed for the title. A good time was had by all!
The 2024 Bridge Club Christmas Party took place on Saturday 7th December, with the club beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The party, with 64 attendees (including a big contingent from the current Beginners Lessons), kicked off with a welcome bubbly on arrival, listening to the delightful classical guitar playing of Stephen Crawford. This was followed by a traditional Christmas turkey (and fish) dinner with dessert. A great raffle followed after dinner with some super prizes donated by members, local restaurants and our neighbours - the top prize being the amazing, very large poinsettia from our neighbour, Aberfeldy. The Prize Giving followed, with presentations to the championship winners, during the year. The night continued on with the fun, Calcutta Tournament. 32 members participated, playing 3 boards - Judy King, Steve Cosham, Richard Gray and Judy Bussell made it to the finals which was then won by Richard Gray - Congratulations! The night continued with Black Jack and music. A fun time was had by all.
