Nine pairs competed in the Junior Pairs held over consecutive Wednesdays, 17 and 24 March. Lorna Anderson and Margaret Kirk had a great second session to move from third place at halfway to win the event with 83 matchpoints. In second place on 79.5 were Diana Downs and Jane Hulse with Sue and Peter Adhemar in third place on 76. Alex Crampton and Helen Hill were a very commendable fourth on 74 in what is their first year of playing bridge.
Congratulations to the winners - Lorna and Margaret have had great success lately and the other juniors will be hoping that they reach the 20-masterpoint limit before much longer!
Special thanks to ex-members Sid and Barbara Lowry who kindly played in the event to make up the numbers thus making it a fair movement with no sit-outs. Steve Ball directed.
